New products power the industry

I feel that we are in a sort of golden era for new products in the boating industry and that can only be a good thing for everyone. Especially, connectivity through the internet and cellular services and the digital integration of just about everything, seems to have brought in greater functionality, improved reliability and ever-more features to benefit the boating experience.

All these new benefits drive sales and in many cases, greatly increase the capabilities for your boating customers helping them to do more, go further and expand their enjoyment on the water. I’m always keen to see the latest new products and performance developments and that’s why I gladly accepted the invitation to again be an Innovation Awards judge at the IBEX show this fall.

IBEX is the biggest showcase for new products in North America and I’m humbled by the resumes of the other judges. This is an amazing group of marine journalists! The actual judging happens at the show but ahead of the opening. The Innovation Award judges walk the show floor for two full days meeting and interviewing the people behind each new product that has been entered in the Innovation Award program. Look for loads of coverage here in Boating Industry Canada News Week Digest in the weeks following the announcement of the Innovation Award winners.

Bear in mind that the marine distributors across Canada are always on the hunt for what’s new and better, and you will probably see a fair selection of the IBEX Innovation Award entries at the distributor shows this fall.

We have most of those shows and their show dates listed here on the Important Dates section of this, and every edition of News Week Digest. Make your plans now, to attend the shows and check out the new products in person!

The association is very well supported and virtually any significant marine electronics company that you could name, was represented there on the Exhibitor list at the Expo as well as all being NMEA members and very supportive of the organization.
