JL Audio unveils MediaMaster® Wireless Remote with Zone Control for Marine Audio Systems

JL Audio MediaMaster

Jan 2, 2024

Keep it cradled, or take it with you to conveniently control your JL Audio marine source unit and audiozones from anywhere on deck.

JL Audio, a Garmin brand and manufacturer of high-performance marine audio systems, announced the addition of the MMR-25W wireless remote controller to its growing portfolio of MediaMaster® source unit control solutions. Equipped with Bluetooth® Low Energy technology, this compact, handheld controller connects directly to the latest MediaMaster® source units, including the MM105 and MM105-HR, and allows for robust, multi-zone system control from anywhere on deck.

“As our marine audio systems evolve and become more advanced with features, the remotes we offer to control them have to be creatively engineered to support more capabilities without becoming complicated to use,” said Robert Oxenhorn, Managing Director JL Audio. “The MMR-25W is an extremely exciting product for us. It’s a wireless remote capable of controlling four discrete zones, and also our first wireless remote that pairs directly to our marine source units without requiring a dedicated receiver box.”

Unlocking more advanced control options than previous MediaMaster® wireless remote solutions, the MMR-25W features a sealed, water-resistant (IP68 rated) design, with large, raised buttons for easy, on-the-move adjustments. Onboard LEDs are also integrated within the transmitter to provide real-time, selection of all or individual audio zones. The MMR-25W also includes a CR2032 battery (3V) and should last for several boating seasons before needing replacement.

Control capabilities include:
• Power On/Off
• Source Selection
• Audio Zone Selection/Lock
• Volume Up/Down
• Track Up/Down
• Track Fast-Forward/Fast-Rewind
• Favorite Up/Down
• Tuner Seek Up/Down
• Play/Pause
• Mute/Unmute

The MMR-25W transmitter module is constructed using UV and salt-water-rated materials and built to withstand the harshest outdoor elements. For added convenience, a silicon wrist lanyard and mounting cradle are also included. The cradle’s minimalistic design permits installation on virtually any flat surface.

The association is very well supported and virtually any significant marine electronics company that you could name, was represented there on the Exhibitor list at the Expo as well as all being NMEA members and very supportive of the organization.
