Feb 13, 2024

On February 5th, Intellian Technologies celebrated twenty years of innovation, during which it has become a leading global provider of multi-band, multi-orbit satellite communication user terminals.

Founded by CEO Eric Sung in 2004, the company sits at the epicentre of the satcom industry. Providing the crucial technology link between satellite networks in space and customers around the world. Intellian’s antennas empower global connectivity across oceans and continents, ensuring internet accessibility worldwide.

Intellian has become synonymous with world-leading innovation. 15% of its annual revenue is reinvested into research and development, which has catapulted their technology advancements, consistently launching world-first products to markets including merchant shipping, cruise, yachting, energy, military, government, enterprise and transportation. In addition to their extensive parabolic portfolio, including maritime TV antennas, Intellian are on-track to deliver the most diverse range of AESA Flat Panel antennas globally, this year.

Listed on South Korea’s KOSDAQ, the anniversary comes off the back of a highly successful 2023, which marked a historic year for Intellian. Unprecedented success both financially and innovatively were underpinned by numerous collaborations with Eutelsat OneWeb, SES, Inmarsat and Iridium.

Alongside these exciting announcements, the company also enjoyed a significant expansion in footprint to support this growth. This included the establishment of a $32m state-of-the-art 221,500 sq ft manufacturing facility in South Korea and the inauguration of its Advanced Development Centre (ADC) in the USA, for Flat Panel innovation. As well as a new Dubai entity and larger offices in Seoul, Singapore, and Shanghai.

Speaking two decades after he founded Intellian, Eric Sung, CEO said “As a young engineer starting out in this industry, I saw the opportunity to really advance the world of satellite communication antennas for customers, and was unburdened by what was the industry’s status quo. Intellian was founded to push the technology and innovation, disrupting these well-established norms and I’m proud that we’ve maintained and nurtured that same spirit since.

“I would like to thank everyone who has joined us on this journey over the past 20 years and helped develop Intellian into the industry-leading company it is today. This includes partners past and present who have helped drive collaboration, innovation, and success. And of course, every member of our team at every level of business, across the globe.

“It’s great to acknowledge this milestone, but as always our focus is on the future and paving the pathway for the next 20 years to remain at the forefront of technological innovation and development.”
