The Trent-Severn Waterway has opened for the 2024 navigation season

May 28, 2024

Parks Canada is pleased to welcome all new and returning visitors to the 104th navigation season on the Trent-Severn Waterway National Historic Site of Canada.

Parks Canada offers 450,000 km2 of stories, and the Trent-Severn Waterway has experiences for everyone. The Trent-Severn Waterway’s lockstations between Trenton and Port Severn connect people with incredible beauty, natural heritage, and modern Canadian memories at our National Historic Sites.

Our popular Lock & Paddle event will return to Peterborough with a special twist. After a record number of participants in 2023, we invite you to celebrate this year’s event with family, friends and fellow paddlers in a “triple crown” of paddling fun. Join Parks Canada on Canada Parks Day (July 20th) in three Canadian cities on three historic canals – all simultaneously! Peterborough, Ottawa and Montreal will all play host for this free, one-of-a-kind canoe and kayak community encounter. What is Lock & Paddle? Learn more about this signature event here!

This summer, we also invite you to extend your fun on the waterway with a one-of-a-kind overnight stay at an oTENTik, Ôasis or reservable camping site. To book one of these unique and popular experiences, visit www.reservations.pc.gc.ca

The safety of our visitors and staff continues to be of the utmost importance to Parks Canada. Boaters, paddlers, and swimmers are reminded that certain reaches continue to have higher-than-average flows and are asked to exercise caution. Floating debris may be present, and navigation aids may be off-station as we continue to monitor the navigation channels. Boaters are also advised to watch their wake and wash near shorelines to avoid damage to docks, boats and property.

Four Winns’ new H9 is stunning!

CMRA

As of July 1st, 2024 the embargo is lifted on the photos and information about Four Winns’ new H9 model and it is stunning!

About a month ago, I traveled to Charlevoix, MI for a special press event to introduce the H9 to a small group of journalists. This is a 29-foot 11-inch luxury day boat with a 9- foot 2-inch beam and it features a fabulous expansive flat floor all the way from the bow rider area to the transom and the swim platform.
