Large vessels require safe 200A connections

Hubbell 200A Connections

June 25, 2024

As superyachts and commercial vessels continue to increase in size and complexity, so do their onboard power requirements. Keeping pace with demand, Hubbell Marine, manufacturer of safe, high-amperage electrical connection products, is the only supplier to offer 200A Ship-to-Shore devices that are listed to UL 1682 standards and UL Classified.

Made in the USA, heavy-duty 200A Ship-To-Shore fittings are designed to be fully interchangeable with Crouse-Hinds Arktite and Appleton Powertite receptacles. The 4-pole, 5-wire 200A system is 600V AC/250 volt DC, 50-400 Hertz and accepts a cord range of #1 AWG to 250 MCM. A unique interior clamp and swivel/pressure pad design protects conductor strands while securing the cable at four separate points for superior retention.

For durable construction, the housing employs copper-free aluminum with an electrostatically applied epoxy/polyester finish. They’re Type 3, 4 and 4X-rated per UL 50 standards for superior water resistance. The UL Listed and CSA Certified pins and sleeves of the connector are nickel-plated Tellurium copper for superior corrosion and heat resistance.

For a complete, finished installation, Hubbell Marine also offers gray metallic inlet and receptacle back boxes in a choice of 2″ or 2.5″ NPT hubs. A 45˚ angled faceplate can be oriented in any of four positions to accommodate specific mounting needs. Hubbell Marine 200A Ship-to-Shore devices start at $2,297. USD.
