Nov 5, 2024

Yamaha Motor Canada is excited to announce two new product line managers for WaterCraft and Outboard Motor as well as a new Marketing Associate for Marine products and special markets. With the addition of these newly established product line manager roles, Yamaha is demonstrating its commitment to strengthening our product offerings and ensuring sustained growth in the marine market.

“Yamaha Motor Canada is making strategic investments to bolster our marine resources,” declared Chris Hawkins, Senior Director of Marine, OPE sales and Field Network. “These investments will position Yamaha for growth as we approach an exciting 2025-2027 mid-term plan.”

Matt Both has been named Product Line Manager for Outboard Motors, bringing 14 years of experience with Yamaha Motor Canada. Starting as a co-op student in 2010, he has held varied roles in the marketing department, and most recently served as a District Sales Manager from 2019 to 2024.

A lifelong boater, Matt grew up working in marinas in Simcoe County and Muskoka, where his family managed an on-water marina. Currently serving on the Board of Directors for Boating Ontario, Matt continues to stay deeply connected to the boating community. As a father of two, he enjoys spending time on the water with his family.

“My passion for boating and the outdoors drives me every day, and I’m incredibly grateful to combine that with my career at Yamaha,” said Matt. “This new role will allow me to use my industry knowledge to contribute to the growth of Yamaha’s Outboard business across Canada, and I look forward to working closely with our dealers nationwide.”

Jason Jackson will be taking the reins as Product Line Manager for WaveRunner, Sport Boat & Boat sales. Over the past 6 years working at Yamaha Financial Services, Jason acquired experience in both field representation and leadership as well as deep knowledge of the Dealer network.

He now brings to this new role a unique blend of financial expertise and a lifelong passion for the marine industry.

Growing up, Jason often attended the Toronto International Boat Show where he developed a particular interest in all Yamaha products. Thirty years later, having fulfilled his goal of working for Yamaha, Jason is eager to contribute to the future of Yamaha Marine in Canada.

“I’m excited about the direction Yamaha Marine is headed,” said Jason. “In this new role, I’ll focus on streamlining processes, enhancing strategies, and expanding product lines. I aim to bring fresh perspectives that support both our dealers and customers during this exciting time for the brand.”

In addition, we are pleased to introduce Ellen Thornton as our new Marketing Associate for Marine products and Special markets. Transitioning from her previous role in Dealer Marketing, Ellen brings extensive knowledge of the dealer network and an in-depth understanding of market demands. This will be invaluable in driving awareness and growth for both the outboard motor and watercraft vehicle product lines.

With these strategic appointments, Yamaha Motor Canada is set to continue leading the marine industry with innovative, customer-focused solutions.
