Annual award tied to International Marine Service Technician Week, April 21-25, 2025

The American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC) reminds the public that the deadline to nominate candidates for the 2025 Outstanding Technician Awards is approaching. A highlight of International Marine Service Technician Week, scheduled for April 21-25, the event celebrates marine technicians and their essential role in ensuring the safety, reliability and enjoyment of boating.

Now in its fourth year, the Outstanding Technician Awards recognize service professionals who stand out in customer service, technical training, and industry involvement. ABYC will honor 10 outstanding technicians with a $100 Visa gift card, a technician prize pack, and recognition on ABYC’s social media platforms. The “New Achiever” category will recognize newcomers to the industry who demonstrate exceptional skill and potential.

Nominations will be accepted through March 31 at https://abycinc.org/outstandingtech2025. Winners will be announced on Thursday, April 24.

While the awards are a key focus, International Marine Service Technician Week features a full schedule of activities to celebrate and showcase various aspects of the marine service profession. ABYC invites businesses, boaters, and the industry to take part in the weeklong celebration.

“Marine Service Technician Week is just around the corner, and we’re excited to see how our industry will celebrate this year,” said Shannon Aronson, ABYC senior director of marketing and communications. “Now is the perfect time to nominate your marine technicians for an award. Start thinking about other ways to show appreciation and highlight this incredible industry and career path during the week of April 21.”
