April 28, 2026

North Sails and Ontario Sailing enter a partnership focused on supporting the sailing community with educational resources for all levels of sailing, technical how-to on the latest advances in cruising and racing technology, and the latest events happening in Ontario for sailors. While a global company with multiple locations around the world, North Sails has a long history with sailing in Canada and deep roots in the Ontario sailing community. For over 20 years, sails were manufactured in Mississauga, where research and development was also done.

“Ontario Sailing is excited to launch this new three-year partnership with North Sails, an organization that shares our passion for growing and supporting sailors across the entire continuum of our sport,” said Murray McCullough, Executive Director of Ontario Sailing. “Together, we look forward to bringing new energy, expertise, and opportunities to sailors at every stage—from youth learning to sail, to competitive racers, cruisers, and lifelong adult sailors—while also inspiring and welcoming new sailors to discover the sport in the years ahead.”

Together, Ontario Sailing and North Sails aim get more people involved in the sailing community and provide knowledge for sailors to feel more confident with their boats. Hugh Beaton, Canadian Regional Manager of North Sails, adds, “We are really pleased to be entering a new partnership with Ontario Sailing, where we are both focused on growing the sport across all market segments from youth programs up to offshore cruising and racing. Our hope is to share knowledge and tips to make all activities safe, fun, and by doing so increase participation.”
