Quick Gyro Stabilizer: Sea Trials and Technical Developments at the 2026 Genoa International Boat Show

October 6, 2026

From October 1 to 6, sea trials of the Quick Gyro stabilizer will be conducted aboard the Nimbus Sport Tender 42 for visitors to the Genoa International Boat Show.

Quick Group, an international leader in the production and distribution of marine equipment for yachts and superyachts, will be present at the 2026 Genoa International Boat Show with a dedicated program focused on the Quick Gyro stabilizer and the opportunity to test it aboard the Nimbus Sport Tender 42, which will serve as Quick Group’s demo boat for the event.

The Quick Gyro range has been developed around a compact and versatile design, intended to suit a wide variety of vessels. The current range includes models from the X2 to the X75. Different configurations, including 12 V DC and AC versions, allow the range to cover applications from dayboats to yachts and superyachts.

One of the system’s distinguishing features is its air-cooling system, which eliminates the need for a complex seawater cooling circuit and associated through-hull fittings. This solution simplifies installation and maintenance, both of which can be carried out directly on board.

The availability of multiple units with the same installation footprint also makes it possible to adopt multiple-unit configurations on larger vessels or where the available space calls for flexible solutions.

Continuous Performance Development

The latest developments across the Quick Gyro range have focused on mechanical and electrical components, as well as dynamic control systems, as part of a continuous improvement program aimed at increasing overall efficiency, reducing power consumption and optimizing start-up times.

The flywheel mass has been optimized with the aim of improving spool-up times. At the same time, developments in electrical parameters and power-management algorithms have reduced current peaks and resulted in a more stable and predictable power-consumption curve, while also improving compatibility with onboard electrical systems.

The control system has also been further developed. The updated ECO function contributes to energy optimization, while new algorithms for flywheel acceleration control and torque calibration have been introduced to further optimize spool-up times.

For the X13, X16 and X19 models, a reduction of more than 30% in the time required for the stabilizer to become operational after start-up has been confirmed.

The updates also extend to multi-gyro configurations. Quick has developed algorithms based on advanced dynamic models and adaptive compensation techniques to optimize the operation of multiple units. This solution is particularly suited to multihull vessels and vessels where installation space is limited.

Four-Years of Warranty

The warranty extension program for the Quick Gyro was introduced by Quick Group at boot Düsseldorf 2026. For eligible models, the program allows the standard two-year warranty to be extended to a total of four years through online product registration.

The extension is subject to scheduled maintenance being carried out at authorized service centers or by certified technicians. The program forms part of the ongoing technical development of the range, which over time has included improvements to its mechanical, electronic and dynamic control systems.

Good Advice that You Can Share – The Art of Anchoring

Unless a boat is secured, it will drift away. If it cannot be attached to something secure, such as a dock, piling, mooring buoy, tree, or boulder, it must be anchored. There is much more to anchoring than simply tossing the anchor over the side.

An anchoring system has two parts: the anchor itself and the rode which connects the anchor to the boat. To be effective, an anchor must have good holding power, and the rode must be strong enough to withstand the strains that are put on it.
