Canada Metal Garners Prestigious Business Award

Canada Metal (Pacific) Ltd. has been selected as one of the Top 20 BCBusiness Leading Innovators for 2012.  The award was announced by Canada Wide Media Ltd., publisher of BCBusiness, in Vancouver, British Columbia, in late March.  The honor recognizes Canada Metal (Pacific) Ltd.'s cadmium-free Martyr II Aluminum anodes, which prevent underwater corrosion without releasing toxic chemicals.

A panel of Canada's top business experts chose Canada Metal (Pacific) Ltd. to join an elite echelon of companies that refuse to settle for the status quo and are a force to be reckoned with, according to Canada Wide Media.  CEO Peter Legge said, "What truly sets our list of Innovators apart is not simply having one brilliant idea.  A company must also be able to take that raw idea, put it to work and make it pay off."

Jason Mitchell, Canada Metal (Pacific) Ltd. international/Canadian account manager, emphasizes that Canada Metal (Pacific) Ltd. didn't invent the aluminum alloy anode, "but is the first company to successfully commercialize and mass produce a high-quality version."  Setting a new industry standard is difficult, he said, and Canada Metal is spending time, resources and energy to promote its less expensive, greener product because, "it's the way of the future."
