Marinemax Vacations Announces New 46-Foot Power Catamaran

MarineMax Vacations at a press conference during the 2012 Miami International Boat Show announced the development and production of a very innovative 46 foot power catamaran for their charter fleet.  The MarineMax 464 will be offered for charter in the beautiful British Virgin Islands and for private ownership under the name Aquila 46, leveraging the more than fifty MarineMax locations.

MarineMax Vacations, in collaboration with the world’s leading design and engineering group Seaway and builder Sino Eagle Yachts, unveiled a model of the concept to the industry today.  “This new 46 foot power catamaran will set the new standard for catamarans,” said Lex Raas President of MarineMax Vacations. “We are leveraging the vast experience MarineMax has gained over the past 40 years meeting power boaters’ expectations and combined it with our charter industry experience to develop the most comfortable and advanced power catamaran in the market.” 

The MarineMax 464 power catamaran, as it will be called for the charter fleet, has a long list of unique features for a yacht under 50 feet.  The MarineMax 464 has four private double cabins with en-suite toilets and showers that are luxurious and spacious.  This 46’ catamaran yacht is loaded with features including a covered forward lounging and seating cockpit accessible from the main saloon, Raymarine e12 navigation system, unique swim platform, Kenyon electric stove, Spectra water maker, Kenyon electric barbeque grill, wireless connectivity, Northern Lights air-conditioning and generator.  The oversized fly bridge features a centrally positioned helm station with excellent visibility for ease of maneuvering, seating for the entire party, sun bathing pad and forward walk-through steps from both sides of the fly-bridge to the foredeck. This innovative yacht will be powered by twin 330hp Volvo Penta diesels.

MarineMax Vacations already operates new Dufour 41 and 43 foot sailing yachts in the British Virgin Islands. MarineMax Vacations recently announced the addition of 10 new MarineMax 382 power catamarans and has on order 30 of the new MarineMax 464 power catamarans. The 464 will be available for charter in the BVI this December.
