Northen Marine Adds HR/Safety Manager To Team

Custom yacht builder Northern Marine has added Wes Fridell to its team as human resources and safety manager.  Company president Andy McDonald made the announcement.

Fridell has more than 30 years of marine industry experience, serving the boatbuilder, retail, marina and distribution markets.  He worked previously for Northern Marine under former owner Bud LeMieux.

"It's great to be back with many of the same team members Northern Marine had before.  Andy is taking everyone in a very positive direction.  Part of my role now is to build on that framework by recruiting the industry's best craftsmen to join our growing company," said Fridell.

He also serves on the Board for Skagit Valley College and Seattle Central Community College, which offer boat construction and design educational programs.  "These students are the future of our industry, it's important to support that," he said.

Northern Marine is a world-class builder of fully-customized long range expedition yachts and luxury yachts up to 151'.  After acquiring the assets of Glas-Ply this year, it now also offers customized fiberglass craft from 7'-28'.  Northern Marine's full refit services accommodate projects ranging from routine maintenance to extensive renovations.
