Jan 30, 2023On September 2, 2022, Lock 36 - The Kirkfield Lift Lock suffered a mechanical failure, resulting in the site’s closure for the remainder of the 2022 navigation season.
Parks Canada advises that a contract has been awarded to undertake repairs to return the site to full service.
The scope of work will include;
Ø Repairs to the structural, mechanical and electrical components.
Ø System improvements to increase safety controls and access improvements to critical system components.
Ø Backup system improvements to minimize impacts on future maintenance activities.
The contractor will mobilize to the site in the near future with the goal of having the asset fully operational by the beginning of the 2023 navigation season.

C-Tow Marine Assistance appoints Jill Noel to Manager of Operations
C-Tow Marine Assistance Ltd., which has been serving and assisting recreational boaters across Canadian waterways for more than 35 years, has announced the appointment of Jill Noel to Manager of Operations, effective January 2, 2023.
In her new role, with an overall goal of building the C-Tow brand across Ontario and throughout Canada, Jill will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations including digital marketing and social media initiatives, company representation at national and local industry events, managing the C-Tow captains, and liaising with marinas, yacht clubs, and marine associations.
