The Water is Waiting… Get Ready with the 2016 Halifax International Boat Show

Back for 2016 in its new (old) home, the Halifax International Boat Show returns to Halifax Exhibition Centre (formerly Exhibition Park) February 18th to 21st. The recently updated facility will once again be filled with the largest and most sought after brands of boats and equipment from across Eastern Canada.

“Year after year, thousands of visitors flock to this long-standing and well-loved show,” said Show Manager Scott Sprague. “With hundreds of exhibitors all under one roof, visitors will have every opportunity to see, touch and even climb aboard tons of boats of all shapes and sizes. The show’s exhibitors are passionate about boating and are available to answer questions and give advice.”

The 2016 edition of Halifax International Boat Show will include something for every taste, with boats ranging in size from 6′ to 35′. Show visitors will see runabouts, cruisers, motor yachts, sail boats, sailing dinghies, pontoon boats, bass boats, inflatables, RIBS and personal water craft. The show also offers exhibits of marine equipment, marine engines, diesel, gas, outboard and inboard, of marine electronics and accessories, of docks and dock builders.

Special features for the 2016 show include:

•         “What Lies Beneath”, a presentation by Wayne Mushrow about his story of diving and retrieving an Astrolabe from 1628.

•         Terry Dwyer Shipwrecks & Sunken Treasure

•         Raina the Mermaid (Saturday from 10 am to 2 pm)

•         BoatSmart! Canada onside boat card testing

•         Cooking on Board with Sommelier Mark DeWolf and seasoned sailor Patricia Nelder

•         Women in Sailing panel discussion

•         Chef Live! and Q104’s Bobby Mac cookoff (Saturday at 1 pm)

•         Discover Boating will offer free advice to help demystify the boating process

•         Boats, boats and more boats! New models, show pricing and the latest products. Plus the chandleries will offer cash & carry pricing on clothing and accessories.
