Pro Watercross is pleased to announce that Flyboard will be the title sponsor of the first US National Hydroflight Tour – the 2017 Flyboard National Tour will consist of three stops for its inaugural season and it is shaping up to be an amazing combination of top-notch athletes, innovative routines and breathtaking venues.

The Flyboard National Tour presented by Zapata Racing and powered by Heyday Wake Boats will be filmed for regional sports networks with a 30-minute TV show airing to an audience of more than 85 million households worldwide throughout the summer months. “Pro Watercross will be the official sanctioning body for Flyboard in the United States – this is a great opportunity for us, for the U.S. and for Flyboard,” Handler said. “This first U.S. National Tour will be filmed for television where the sport is going mainstream and Pro Watercross is proud to be a part of it.”

Pro Watercross’ Managing Director of Hydroflight, Jason Burns, has been instrumental in organizing the tour taking advantage of the growing popularity of the hydroflight sport, and giving these athletes the opportunity to excel and spur new talent while growing its fan base. “With the expertise and backing of Flyboard and Zapata Racing, this inaugural season the Hydroflight Tour is already guaranteed to showcase the best in the sport – the best competitions, the best athletes including Ashton Beukers, one of the top Flyboard athletes in the world – the best purse and the best experience for fans,” said Burns.

Kicking off the season in Pensacola on April 29-30, the Flyboard National Tour will pull out all the stops to make Round One an extravaganza that will leaves both flyers and fans wanting more and looking forward to the rest of the season. Pensacola will be a perfect venue to kick off the partnership between the watercross and hydroflight sports under the Pro Watercross banner, according to tour officials.

“This is going to be a great arena for these amazing Hydroflight athletes to showcase for their talents and the level of progression in the sport has been unbelievable in the last few years” Burns said “Pensacola is a beautiful city and the people in that city are really in love with our sport; it’s nice to have cities like that that really want you there.”

From Pensacola, the tour heads to Erie, Pennsylvania for Round Two of the tour on June 24-25. The Flyboard National Tour will join the Erie Poker Run, a popular go-fast powerboat event, which will be held in Erie for the third year. Performance boating enthusiasts from across the Northeastern United States and Canada will convene in Erie before making five stops at establishments on the shores of Lake Erie to complete a poker hand.

“The Flyboard National Tour will, without a doubt, be something unlike Erie has ever seen before,” said Ron Sertz, Executive Director of the Erie Sports Commission. “The stunts that these athletes perform are truly spectacular.

The location for the National Championship – the third and final tour stop of the season before the World Championship is still in negotiations and will be announced soon.

Closing out the season, the 2017 Hydroflight World Championship held in Naples, Florida. Like the 2016 Flyboard World Cup Championship, Pro Watercross will go above and beyond for the international competition that brings athletes from across the world to vie for prize money and prestige.

Held in conjunction with the Pro Watercross World Championships which takes place the following week, the 2017 Hydroflight World Championship is slated to top the spectacular performances of 2016 – which prompted more than 1,000,000 fans to log on to watch the Live Web Streaming and garnered over 100,000 new fans for the Pro Watercross Facebook page. 2017 you can expect top-level athletes, fierce competitions, amazing demonstrations, surprise guests and a whole lot of fun!
