2025 Halifax International Boat Show stronger than ever

The 2025 Halifax International Boat Show Sponsored by Aviva made a resounding return to the Halifax Exhibition Centre. After a snowy 2024 edition, the boat show came back stronger than ever with over 5,000 attendees and high sales rates across the show floor. The annual event took place, February 6th to 9th.

Displays across the show floor included runabouts, cruisers, sailboats, motor yachts, pontoon boats, fishing boats, inflatables, marine equipment, engines, outboard and inboard, marine electronics and accessories, docks and more:

– A seminar stage on Friday and Saturday of the show with presentations from Canadian Olympic sailors, Georgia and Antonia Lewin-LaFrance and other local marine personalities.

– Discovery Centre Aquatic Touch Tank

– Back to the Sea Centre hosted activations for kids on Saturday

The show would also like to thank the over 30 young artists who participated in the colouring contest presented in partnership with The Discovery Centre. Luca, Age 3 / Brooklyn, Age 8 / Seungah, Age 9 are heading to the Centre to see the newest Dinosaur Explorer exhibit. 

Visitors also had the chance to win the show’s door prize: an X1 AquaPro Shark Towable courtesy of Quartermaster Marine. Congratulations to David from Herring Cove, NS who took home this prize.

Duncan Peacock, resident of Kitimat BC and member of Kitimat Marine Search and Rescue and RCMSAR Unit 63, has been awarded the 12th annual Tim Jones Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Outdoor Community in British Columbia.

Peacock has been a member of Kitimat Marine Search and Rescue and RCMSAR Unit 63 for 31 years, making him one of the longest-serving members in the province.

2025 is a pretty special year for RS Sailing, who are celebrating 10 years of the RS Quest! This training dinghy has become the go-to for sailing schools and youth programs all over the world. Initially created in partnership with the UK Sea Cadets to replace their aging fleet, designer Jo Richards and the RS Sailing development team wanted to make sure the RS Quest was built to break the mould.
