Rossiter Boats TrendPhoto by Kate Fincham

Building on a Rich Nautical Heritage

Rossiter Boats is experiencing double digit growth, almost unheard of in the marine industry. In fact, in the past twelve months, their dealer base has doubled. They've introduced a new twenty footer, for which the first year's production sold out before the first boat could come off the line. To what does Rossiter president Scott Hanson attribute that success?

"There is value to building boats using leading edge materials and technology, but at the same time, doing it the traditional way, building boats one at a time, by hand each and every day, thanks to the support of our retail partners/dealers," Hanson stated during an interview.

In the last month, Rossiter has added six new dealers: Paris Marine, Hampton Watercraft & Marine, Seagate Marine, Woodlake Marine, Atwood Lake and Yachting Solutions in Coastal Maine.

"We've been in high-end boats for 15 years now and Rossiter fits perfectly into our product mix. It's not just the manufacturing of Rossiter that's impressive. equally important to us, it's how they treat and respond to customers that really sets Rossiter apart," said Tommy Gaston, president of Seagate Marine Sales, Inc in Stuart, Fl.

Tony Villareale, president of Hampton Watercraft & Marine in New York also chose Rossiter because of their quality. "Our customers demand quality, and Rossiter delivers on every level."

"A customer introduced us to Rossiter. We were so impressed with their quality and classic retro-style, we took on the line," said Greg Alcock of Woodlake Marine.

Over forty years ago, boat builder and marine engineer George Rossiter started handcrafting original, wooden boats out of his deep love and instinctive respect for the designers of boats from Florida to New England and into the Great Lakes. Rossiter Boats has since maintained that same level of craftsmanship and commitment to big water performance since migrating to 100% fiberglass composite boats in the 80's with teak accents, yet never sacrificing quality.

As an example, many Rossiter powerboat hulls remain in the mold for one week during the layup process. While this might not make the most financial sense, it allows for complete curing of the hull and provides a stable, durable finished product that the company can support through its Limited Lifetime Warranty. Rossiter's three part hull, grid stringer system, and liner-deck construction method, coupled with attention to balancing fixed and variable weights, and their unique, 22 degree variable deadrise hull design (24 degree deadrise on the 14 footer) all contribute to their renowned, smooth, efficient, sure footed and quiet ride even in big water. "At 25 knots, the loudest thing you'll hear is another boat passing by," says one of Rossiter's new dealers, Chris Keenan of Essex Marine in Essex, CT.

Since Scott Hanson took over the Rossiter legacy just ten years ago, these sleek, streamlined boats have evolved and expanded into a line of boats offering the ultimate in style and function, while employing the most up-to-date design and building techniques of any boat on the water thanks to their staff and consulting designers and engineers.

Their rowing and power boats can be found on both coasts of the US and Canada, from the Great Lakes to the Gulf, in lakes and coastal waters, in salt, fresh, brackish and big waters.

Questus Radar Mount

Questus Marine patented, Self-Leveling Radar Mounts automatically keep radar antennas level with the horizon, eliminating target loss.

Regardless of the angle of heel, with a Questus mount, a radar antenna will pick up targets to either side of a vessel, rather than aiming to the sky and water (for planes and fish). The Questus Marine Self-Leveling Radar Mount can be installed in three basic configurations: backstay mount, mast mount or Stern Pole mount.
