B.C. HAS JOINED WASHINGTON AND OREGON IN CELEBRATING ORCA AWARENESS MONTH

Georgia Straight Orcas

June 19, 2017

For orcas, the ever-increasing noise levels in the Salish Sea are threatening their ability to find food, communicate and navigate the dark waters critical to their survival. Sound under the sea is polluting our marine environment, and the survival of southern residents is at stake.

The iconic orcas are dangerously close to extinction, making action to recover their population critical. By standing together with other concerned citizens to give orcas a voice, you can make a difference. Be part of bringing the orca back from the brink.

The Georgia Strait Alliance encourages people to learn more about the southern resident orcas and the places they call home.
