The National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) has released the results of its 2017 Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) dealership surveys. An outstanding 62 Boston Whaler dealers have been recognized, with a total of 82 awards for excellence in customer satisfaction in the categories of Sales and Service, up from 55 dealers honored last year.

“Boston Whaler would like to extend our congratulations to all of the dealers who earned CSI Awards this year,” said Whaler Director of Customer Experience Nathan Abdalian. “Our dealers are on the front lines, representing our brand day-to-day and working hard to ensure that our customers have a positive experience. The CSI Awards are a testament to their hard work and dedication.”

For the second consecutive year, the NMMA is using dealer satisfaction data collected through the Marine Industry CSI program to recognize boat dealers who actively measure customer satisfaction and pursue continuous improvements to better serve their customers.

“Boat dealers are the direct line between the customer and the manufacturer, playing an essential role in the boat ownership experience and fostering customer satisfaction. The 2017 boat dealer CSI Award recipients excel at serving boaters with a commitment to superior sales and service,” said Robert Newsome, the NMMA’s vice president of engineering standards and membership. “We thank the dealers for their dedication to their customers, ensuring that today’s boaters remain lifelong boaters.”

The 2017 CSI Award dealer recipients achieved an independently measured standard of excellence of 90 percent or higher in customer satisfaction over the past program year. Data was collected as part of a survey of customers purchasing a new boat or engine during the period between January 1, 2017 and December 31, 2017. For this reporting period, the program surveyed more than 140,000 customers.

Good Advice that You Can Share – The Art of Anchoring

Unless a boat is secured, it will drift away. If it cannot be attached to something secure, such as a dock, piling, mooring buoy, tree, or boulder, it must be anchored. There is much more to anchoring than simply tossing the anchor over the side.

An anchoring system has two parts: the anchor itself and the rode which connects the anchor to the boat. To be effective, an anchor must have good holding power, and the rode must be strong enough to withstand the strains that are put on it.
