WebastoWebasto, the leading global manufacturer of marine HVAC and roofing solutions, has announced it is now an IBBI (Independent Boat Builders, Inc.) preferred supplier. The agreement covers Webasto’s marine A/C and fuel-operated heating solutions, as well as its sunroof and shade systems.

Webasto has been a supplier to current notable IBBI members such as Chris Craft, Cobalt, Contender, Cruisers Yachts, Rec Boat Holdings, Scout, Tidewater and World Cat. “We truly value our longstanding relationship with Webasto,” said Jody Biehl, KCS International/Cruisers Yachts purchasing manager. “They manufacture a wide range of premium products that accentuate the quality we build into our boats. Plus, they provide an unprecedented level of customer-focused technical support. We’re pleased that they are now an IBBI preferred supplier.”

Webasto offers a full range of first-in-class A/C and chiller products for yachts such as its self-contained BlueCool and FCF Series. Engineered to provide a higher BTU/h rating across a variety of ambient scenarios, the FCF Series provides unmatched reliability and is backed by a best-in-class warranty on parts and labor. Its innovative Breeze by Webasto is the first air conditioner designed specifically for open cockpit boats.

The leading manufacturer of marine sunroofs in the world, Webasto’s BlueSky, and Series 20, 40, 60 and 80 models offer boatbuilders an easy way to add a high-end amenity to their offerings. Fully assembled, the completely watertight sunroofs offer simple drop-in installation. They’re available in electric and manual sliding versions, and fixed panels. Easily customized to ensure a perfect match with the boat’s style, Webasto’s Rolling Shade systems are ideal for cockpits, rear decks and flybridges.

“The significance of being named an IBBI preferred supplier is considerable for Webasto,” said David Wollard, Webasto senior director – marine climate Americas region. “It’s an important purchasing cooperative with numerous innovative boatbuilder members. Through this partnership, we’re positioned to expand our impact on the marine industry by delivering best-in-class products and support.”

Formed in 1989, IBBI uses the same criteria for selecting suppliers as it does for accepting members: a reputation for quality, service and industry leadership. Its website is ibbi.com.
