The board of directors of the Alliance de l’Industrie nautique du Québec – Nautisme Québec is proud to announce the appointment of Ms. Josée Côté as their new General Manager. “Josée’s dynamism will bring a breath of fresh air to Nautisme Québec. Her skills and personality fit perfectly with the vision we have for the future of our organization and with the new generation of boating enthusiasts we want to serve “, affirms Marc-André Loyer, Chairman of the Board of Directors.

As a key actor against the closing of the Lachine marina, Ms. Côté stood out as co-founder, president and spokesperson of the Lachine Boaters Association (Association des Plaisanciers du Port de Plaisance de Lachine – APPPL). As a passionate supporter of our waterways, she wants to work on the promotion and democratization of water sports and access to the water for all, as well as the ecological transition of water sports in Quebec and the environmentally responsible practices of boating and related activities.

Ms. Côté also holds close to her heart the promotion of proper civic behavior and boating safety on Quebec’s waterways. To achieve this, she wishes to rally to this vision all stakeholders, whether they are boaters, corporate members of the Alliance, non-motorized nautical sports associations, actors for the defense of our waterways and the environment, citizens groups and political and tourism representatives and concerned members of the scientific community. Her leadership and vision will help bring a feeling of belonging to the nautical community for all parties, who will benefit on an enhanced services offering, including municipalities that are friendly to the boating industry.

Multidisciplinary and with more than 15 years of management experience, Ms. Côté has worked in several organizations, whether private, associative, educational and municipal. A mother of three teenagers, she has a postgraduate university degree in industrial relations. Gifted at public relations, she demonstrates excellent organizational and communication skills. Rigorous, analytical and committed, she is known for her motivational leadership.

Josée will take office on January 3rd, 2022, as the organization’s new general manager and spokesperson. You’re invited to meet and chat with her at the Montreal International Boat Show, held from February 10 to 13, 2022 at the Palais des congrès de Montréal.
