Dometic Marine Mega Plate wins 2022 Top Product Award from Boating Industry Magazine

Dometic Mega Plate

May 16, 2022

A judging panel from a leading boating industry trade journal, Boating Industry selected Dometic’s electro-hydraulic jack plate system. The award-winning product is engineered for today’s heavy, high-horsepower outboard engines up to 600 horsepower-mounted on modern large center console and fishing boats.

A panel of editors and journalists from leading marine business journal Boating Industry Magazine has named Dometic’s new Mega Plate electro-hydraulic jackplate system a 2022 Top Products Award Winner. The publication recognized Dometic and other winners in the recently released May 2022 issue, as well as through various online channels.

Dometic engineered its new Mega Plate to meet the rigorous demands of boats powered by today’s large high-horsepower outboard motors 400 horsepower and above — including the new V12 600 horsepower outboard from Mercury.

Mega Plate is offered in 6-inch, 8-inch and 10-inch setbacks to accommodate a range of installations and is available in two versions — a standard bolt pattern for Yamaha XTO and Mercury 450R engines and a wide bolt pattern for Mercury 500 and 600 horsepower outboards.

This new system brings the many benefits of precision engine height control — better top-end speed, enhanced fuel efficiency and improved shallow water hole shot — to an array of today’s popular large center console and fishing boats. Mega Plate has been robustly built and extensively tested by Dometic to ensure superior performance and long-term durability in the harshest marine conditions.

Mega Plate’s built-in Smartstick linear position sensor and its ability to integrate with Dometic Digital Switching technology and HTML5 capable MFDs allows full control of multiple engine height positions with the touch of a finger.

“Mega Plate is a fine example of our commitment to develop new technologies that meet the needs of an ever-changing industry,” said President of Segment Marine at Dometic, Eric Fetchko. “We believe this product will be a must-have performance accessory for a growing and very popular category of saltwater boats. We are proud that the staff and editors of Boating Industry Magazine agree, and have honored us with this award,” added Fetchko.
