A calm lake. Amazing weather. Friends and family aboard. All boaters live for those perfect days on the water, but as we all know, the costs of boating can quickly add up. For that reason, Dock Links was launched.

Dock Links is a membership discount program created with boaters—and marinas—in mind.

Dock Links members enjoy a wide variety of exclusive benefits including discounts on transient stays, fuel and pump-outs as well as savings at restaurants, retailers and local businesses.

But our advantages don’t stop with boaters. With our exposure, advertising and partnership, we offer marina owners an easy way to boost their business, extending exclusive promotions and attracting more customers from competing marinas.

Dock Links is developing even more offerings now and in the near future. We recently introduced convenient digital membership cards which give our members instant access to all our benefits without having to carry plastic cards. Next month, we’re launching our new Dock Links website which will be easier to navigate and filled with exciting new offers. And we’ve partnered with Boaters University to bring members a 30% discount on any course from their curriculum which aims to be the best learning platform for boaters.

On top of these developments, we’re exploring other innovations including geo-based timed promotions. This cutting-edge service will give marinas the chance to attract customers they couldn’t normally reach by allowing them to contact members in the area with focused, time-sensitive offers.

While we launched Dock Links as a cost-saving discount program for boaters and a marketing tool for our partners, we ultimately see it creating a boater community. Our vision is that in the future this like-minded network of marine enthusiasts will look to us for boating knowledge, updates and resources. To build this community, Dock Links will offer boating education (practical information like tips on being a better boater), develop social media connections and hold events that bring boaters together.

“Save More, Boat More” is more than just a catchy slogan to us. It represents the Dock Links mission, today and in the future: more savings, more fun for boaters, more business for partnered marinas. It’s a win-win for all parties…and that means a perfect day on the water for everyone.

Good Advice that You Can Share – The Art of Anchoring

Unless a boat is secured, it will drift away. If it cannot be attached to something secure, such as a dock, piling, mooring buoy, tree, or boulder, it must be anchored. There is much more to anchoring than simply tossing the anchor over the side.

An anchoring system has two parts: the anchor itself and the rode which connects the anchor to the boat. To be effective, an anchor must have good holding power, and the rode must be strong enough to withstand the strains that are put on it.
