The old adage about red sky at night should have included the Lake Union Boats Afloat Show as a sailor’s delight. Whether you’re a landlubber wanting to learn the ropes about sailing or an old salt looking for your next sailboat, the September Lake Union Boats Afloat Show has it all. The 2013 September show offers free sailboat rides for kids and adults, a learn-to-sail package including seminars and on water instruction and dozens of sailboat brands on display – from Blue Jacket to Island Packet to Jeanneau –many making their West Coast debut at the show. The show gets underway on Wednesday September 11th and continues through Sunday 15th, 2013.
Canada always seems to come out alright – we don’t often boom, but we rarely seem to bust. For the past two years, the boat business has been on fire in the US but supply constraints here seem to have moderated our business results.
David, or “Dr. Grip” as he is affectionately known in the industry, has finally decided that, after a career spanning 40 years in leading the way in topsides systems, it is time to hang up his spray gun and indulge his other passion in life, traveling in his motorhome with his wife Christi. Headquartered in Penetanguishene, Ontario, the newly formed Canadian Marine Retailers Association (CMRA) will focus on national issues facing the sector.
