Expansion Includes Addition of Port Sanilac Marina and Great Lakes Distribution

Laurent Fabre, President of Beneteau America, unveils the expansion plan of Beneteau Sailboat distribution in the Midwest. Fabre announced the appointment of Port Sanilac Marina to represent the sailboat division in eastern Michigan.

Port Sanilac Marina is a family-owned, full-service yacht dealership that offers long-term dockage, inside and outside storage, plus an onsite service department with certified mechanics. 

“Port Sanilac Marina is thrilled to become the newest North American Beneteau Sailboat Dealer,” said Chester Kolascz, President of Port Sanilac Marina. “With Beneteau’s long history of building quality sailboats, we are excited to offer these yachts to discerning Great Lakes sailors.”

In addition, Beneteau representatives announced the expansion of RCR Yachts’ territory, which currently includes upstate New York and Western Pennsylvania, to now also encompass the Lake Erie/ Cleveland, Ohio market. Founded in 1972, RCR Yachts is a fixture of the Lake Erie and Lake Ontario sailing scene with five office locations and a boatyard.

“RCR Yachts has thorough knowledge of the Beneteau brand as well as the Great Lakes market,” said Don Finkle, owner of RCR Yachts. “Our respected, full-service sailboat operations facilities will allow us to provide our new clients with the best level of customer service available.” Sail Place Inc, the Beneteau Sailboat dealer in western Michigan, will represent Beneteau in the greater Chicago area in addition to other areas in the Midwest. “Since 2002 we have been representing Beneteau in Michigan with a showroom and office in Muskegon,” said Dave Fullbright, owner of Sail Place. “Now, in addition to Chicago, we will represent Beneteau throughout Illinois, Indiana, Iowa and Nebraska via our showroom and office in Kenosha.” “We are excited to be able to announce the expansion of our dealer network throughout the Midwest and Great Lakes regions,” said Chris Doscher, sailboats sales manager for Beneteau America. “We look forward to working closely with these great partners and their expert teams to exceed customer expectations in every way.” SailPlace is partnering with Beneteau Dealership Racine Riverside and SailTime Chicago to host a joint Open House and dock party at Burnham Harbor in Chicago on Saturday, May 7th.
