Boating BC Association Names New Director, Business Development

Boating BC Association has announced that Rob Weys, local businessman and avid recreational boater, has joined Boating BC Association as Director, Business Development.
Weys is an accomplished business owner with an extensive sales and Management background. He is a proven leader with over 25 years of experience in business development, entrepreneurship, startups, non-profit organizations, operational management, executive oversight, and strategic decision-making. Rob also has extensive maritime experience spanning offshore, coastal, and vessel operations, with strong expertise in sailing, commercial and recreational fishing, and powerboat operations.
Recognized for building high-performing teams, driving organizational growth, and delivering effective operational leadership across diverse industries and challenging marine environments.
He will assume the position of Director, Business Development, being responsible for sales and business growth at both the Vancouver International Boat Show, as well as, the newly developed Fall Marina Show & Sale at the Marina at Hampton Cove in Delta BC. Rob will also focus on Membership Development and growth.
Weys succeeds Amanda Henschell, who has held the position since 2023, and under whose guidance, the Vancouver International Boat Show was reactivated after a 2-year break due to COVID.

Weys’ appointment comes amidst preparations for Boating BC Association’s signature event, the Vancouver International Boat Show, January 27 to 31 st at BC Place and Granville Island and the newly developed Fall Marina Show & Sale September 18 to 20 at the Marina at Hampton Cove.
