Boatyard launches industry leading app for Hucks Marine and Resort

Hucks Marine and Resort

Oct 26, 2021

Hucks Marine & Resort announced on October 19, 2021, the launch of a brand-new mobile experience for their boaters: the Hucks Marine & Resort App, developed and powered by Boatyard.

Boatyard, the first customer experience platform for the marine industry, provided Hucks Marine & Resort with a unique combination of tools to deliver remarkable customer experiences.

Hucks’ boat owners can use the app to request a boat wash, book service appointments, schedule fuel deliveries and more, all from one single platform. Boat owners can then receive in-app notifications with updates throughout the service process, as well as photos and videos shared by the Hucks Marine & Resort staff.

The app also features a live river cam and weather conditions, listings of boats for sale, and the ability to reserve private time at their on-site gym. Marina residents also gain additional access to a private concierge section with a suite of VIP services.

“Being able to give our customers real-time mobile updates on any marina service is really going to help set us apart from the competition,” said Hucks Marine President Scott MacCrimmon. “Offering cost transparency before beginning a job, sharing photos of the work progress, taking payments, and scheduling pick-ups all from one app will allow customers to spend more time relaxing on their boats and less time maintaining them. We look forward to delivering this top-notch customer experience to our boaters this fall.”

Hucks Marine & Resort is located in the beautiful 1000 Islands at Rockport, Ontario and is the first company in Canada to implement Boatyard’s best-in-class customer experience platform. Since 1889 Hucks has welcomed friends and families to play in the St. Lawrence River’s 1000 Islands with a commitment to enrich the lives of all those who play, live and work on the water. As an official Boatyard partner, Hucks also gains the ability to reach new boaters in their local area via the Boatyard app, which connects thousands of boaters to on-demand local marine services every day and continues to take the customer experience Beyond Boating.

Nathan Heber, founder and CEO of Boatyard, comments, “The team at Huck’s Marine & Resort contacted us after determining that Boatyard was the best platform available to deliver the high standard of service that they seek to provide to their boat owners. Boatyard became a seamless addition to their existing dealer management software to deliver new functionality not typically provided by back-office platforms. From there, we customized their app based on the dealership and marina needs, creating a unique platform specifically built for Hucks Marine & Resort.”

The Huck’s Marine & Resort app is available now to download for iOS and Android devices. https://www.boatyard.com/hucks?utm_source=Cision&utm_medium=PressRelease&utm_campaign=BY-HucksMarine

Good Advice that You Can Share – The Art of Anchoring

Unless a boat is secured, it will drift away. If it cannot be attached to something secure, such as a dock, piling, mooring buoy, tree, or boulder, it must be anchored. There is much more to anchoring than simply tossing the anchor over the side.

An anchoring system has two parts: the anchor itself and the rode which connects the anchor to the boat. To be effective, an anchor must have good holding power, and the rode must be strong enough to withstand the strains that are put on it.
