The Canadian Power and Sail Squadron (CPS-ECP) has a new valued service for their members – and it is with Carefree Boat Club (CBC) in Canada.

CBC is now a proud Sponsor offering benefits for CPS-ECP members that join Carefree. One of the new member benefits includes incentives for CPS-ECP members to continue their boating education through CPS-ECP courses. CBC will offer a discount on their membership entry fee and reimburse members partially any successfully completed CPS-ECP courses moving forward. Courses are held either in class, virtual meetings or online. There is something to be said about the benefits of having your own personal teacher! In addition, CPS-ECP members now have an easy way to get on the water to master their boating and navigation skills with CBC which also has the highest standards in boat safety training.

CBC offers unlimited in house one-on-one On-the-Water training with all new and existing members, including on larger vessels ranging from 22’-30’ with all types of propulsion. Qualified instructors from CPS-ECP Squadrons are also utilized at CBC locations for training with members. Combine this with the professional and detailed courses offered through CPS-ECP and you now have an unmatched resource for the best boating instruction and education available.

CPS-ECP has been delivering boating courses in Canada for over 80 years and is the only course provider that offers the Canadian Pleasure Craft Operator Card (PCOC) that is NASBLA approved and valid in the United States of America. In addition, this qualification is accredited and recognized by Transport Canada.

In our ongoing efforts to provide new and unique boating experiences for our Carefree Boat
Club members, we are excited and privileged to have procured this relationship with CPS-ECP.
Our shared desire to promote a high level of safe boating and operator skills compliments our
passion for the boating lifestyle,” said Steve Taylor, President of Carefree Boat Club Lake Simcoe and Georgian Bay locations in Ontario Canada. Steve has been with Carefree Boat Club
since 2008 where he had the first two locations in South West Florida and expanded to Canada in 2014. This was also the first Boat Club in Canada.

Carefree Boat Club offers a premium option for members to enjoy Boating without Owning. With over 110 locations globally, over 6,500 members and over 800 premium boats, Carefree Boat Club offers the best boat availability with guaranteed low member to boat ratios.

CBC is proud to celebrate their 20th year in operation, originally founded in Virginia, USA in 2002, and with more locations rapidly opening up throughout Canada, there is no better time to offer these added benefits for members with The Canadian Power and Sail Squadrons. An anchoring system has two parts: the anchor itself and the rode which connects the anchor to the boat. To be effective, an anchor must have good holding power, and the rode must be strong enough to withstand the strains that are put on it.
