CMP Group acquires Grant Rope

CMP Group Ltd, a leading manufacturer and distributor of marine products, has announced that they have reached an agreement to acquire Grant Rope Inc. based in Trenton, ON, Canada. Grant Rope is a long-standing manufacturer of high-quality marine cordage and rope products which it distributes through the Onlineropestore.com and The Rope Store retail outlet. The deal was expected to close on October 1st, 2021.

Grant Rope continues CMP’s strategy to grow its North American domestic manufacturing presence and strengthen its position in the recreational marine industry.

“We are very excited about the strategic fit between Grant Rope and CMP and believe there are many advantages and opportunities for our customers, supply partners and our team” states Don Hambly, President & CEO, CMP. “Grant Rope’s manufacturing expertise supports our plan to develop and launch domestically made premium rope products under the new ‘CMP Cordage’ brand that complement our existing rope products and support our growing marine business.”

Norm Grant, founder and owner of Grant Rope will remain with the combined entity to help ensure a smooth transition and support CMP’s growth plans. He commented, “This is a tremendous opportunity for Grant Rope and our customers. By joining forces with CMP, we will leverage the expertise and resources of CMP to take Grant Rope to the next level.”
