How to take advantage of this offer

Get a second free permit with the purchase of select lockage permits on Parks Canada’s historic canals. When you travel through the waterways, visit one of the lockstations to buy your lockage permit and get your free permit from Parks Canada staff.

Where can I get a coupon?

Starting May 15, promotional coupons will be available at Parks Canada lockstations along the historic canals of Canada (see list above) and Thousand Islands National Park. For the location of these sites, please visit the historic canals of Canada’s Web page.

Coupons and permits will also be available at boat shows in Canada and the United States during winter 2015 (see list below). To learn more and to hear about the numerous experiences you can have thanks to this promotion, you are invited to meet Parks Canada staff at their booth at these events: 

    Ottawa Boat & Sportsmen’s Show: February 19 to 22, 2015
    Québec Hunting, Fishing, Camping & Boat Show (in French only): March 12 to 15, 2015

Coupons will also be available in some marinas along the Rideau Canal and the Trent-Severn Waterway, in the greater Montreal area as well as those on Lake Champlain. Contact your local marina for more information.

Finally, several cottage and boating associations in Ontario that collaborate with Parks Canada will distribute promotional 2 for 1 coupon. Contact your local recreational or sport association to see if they are participating in the initiative.

Ready to buy your lockage permits?

Single lockage, single lockage & return and one day permits for locks along Parks Canada’s historic canals are available only in facilities located along waterways as well as at boat shows in 2015.

Seasonal lockage and mooring permits, transit permits or six day permits can be purchased online as well as at Parks Canada facilities on the historic canals (the 2-for-1 promotion is not valid for these permits).

What is the duration of this promotion?

The promotional coupon will be distributed as of January 2015. Boaters can take advantage of this offer by buying and redeeming select lockage permits on historic canals between May 15 and June 30, 2015. 

Parks Canada’s historic canals hours of operation

Hours of operation for Parks Canada’s waterways in Ontario and Quebec are available through the historic canals of Canada’s Web page and by clicking the destination of your choice. In Québec, as hours of operation vary from lock to another, you are invited to consult the timetables to plan your travel.

One coupon per boat, transferable to another vessel. Applicable in Canada only to the purchase of specified permits; not applicable on commercial lockage. No cash value, can not be combined with any other offer or applied to seasonal lockage & mooring permits, transit permits or six day permits.
