ePropulsion’s kMax Battery Earns ICAST 2026 Best of Show Honors In Energy Category

August 4, 2026

ePropulsion Americas, the global leader in marine electric propulsion systems and services, announced that its new kMax Battery has been named a 2026 ICAST New Product Showcase “Best of Show” Category Winner in the Energy Category, recognizing the battery’s innovative design and performance for kayak anglers and other small craft. The prestigious award was presented during the 2026 International Convention of Allied Sportfishing Trades (ICAST), the recreational fishing industry’s largest annual trade show.

Purpose-built for kayak anglers and small watercraft, the kMax Battery delivers high-output 48V power in a lightweight, compact package engineered to maximize onboard space and performance. Featuring advanced lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO₄) chemistry, the battery provides 1,024Wh of capacity while weighing just 24.3 pounds. Its modular, stackable architecture enables users to expand available power by connecting additional batteries, offering a flexible energy solution for longer adventures on the water.

“The kMax Battery represents our commitment to developing practical innovations that make electric boating more capable, reliable and accessible,” said Tom Watson, president of ePropulsion Americas. “Receiving ICAST’s Best of Show recognition is an honor because it reflects the confidence of the fishing industry in our technology. Whether anglers are making long runs to their next fishing spot or spending full days on the water, the kMax delivers the intelligent, dependable power they need.”

The kMax Battery serves as the power source for ePropulsion’s new kMax electric propulsion platform, providing anglers with scalable energy for longer days on the water without sacrificing valuable deck space or portability. Its built-in smart battery management system continuously monitors battery health and performance while enabling users to view battery status, diagnostics and software updates through the ePropulsion mobile app.

The ICAST New Product Showcase is the sportfishing industry’s premier venue for recognizing product innovation, with Best of Category awards selected by a panel of media and retail buyers evaluating the newest products introduced to the market each year.
