EVINRUDE RECEIVES PRESTIGIOUS RED DOT DESIGN AWARD

Evinrude announced today that it has received the prestigious 2018 Red Dot Award for Product Design for its E-TEC G2 150-200hp outboard engine. Recognizing the best products for over 60 years, the distinction “Red Dot” has become established internationally as one of the most sought-after seals of design quality. The annual award is given in three disciplines: the Red Dot Award: Product Design, Red Dot Award: Communication Design and Red Dot Award: Design Concept.

The Red Dot design awards debuted in 1955 to acknowledge cutting-edge products, evolving industries and customer experience with emerging tendencies. A panel of roughly 40 experts evaluated the products’ level of innovation, functionality, formal quality, ergonomics and durability to thoroughly conclude which concept merits the distinction. The Red Dot jury’s statement on its selection of the Evinrude E-TEC G2 notes the “distinctive appearance enabling personalization which characterizes this outboard motor platform. It also convinces with a combination of powerful motor and environmentally friendly combustion technology.”

BC Ferries vessel Queen of Surrey is expected to remain out of commission until the end of the month, according to BC Ferries.
