Trent-Severn Waterway Public Safety Notice – High Water on the Severn Trent & Otonabee Rivers

Parks Canada

Rev ised July 15, 2021

Parks Canada advises the public to expect higher than normal water levels and flows during navigation hours and increased flows outside of navigation hours, across the entire navigable route of the Trent-Severn Waterway as of July 14, 2021 until further notice.

The higher than normal water levels and flows during navigation hours are due to the high amounts of precipitation received over the past 2 weeks across the system.

The increased flows overnight are the result of water management dam adjustments to address the higher than normal water levels caused by the recent precipitation. The public should consider these overnight flows as non-navigable. In addition, overnight mooring at Lock 19 – Scotts Mills will be suspended until further notice.

Residents and visitors should exercise extreme caution around and on the water.
