Mercury Marine captures record 86% market share at São Paulo Boat Show

Mercury Marine, a division of Brunswick Corporation (NYSE: BC), continues to increase its presence at the largest boat shows around the world with a record showing at the recent São Paulo Boat Show. This year, Mercury had the most outboard engines on display during the show capturing a record 86% market share among boats on display up to 42 feet. In addition, Mercury showcased the 7.6L V12 600hp Verado® engine for the first time in Brazil.

“We continue to execute against our strategic priorities, and the São Paulo Boat Show results are a reflection of the dedication and commitment from our team in Brazil,” said Facundo Onni, general manager of Mercury Latin America and Caribbean. “It is fantastic to see the strength of partnerships we have with our builders and dealers as we continue to position Mercury Marine as the preferred brand of choice.”

In addition to the V12 Verado outboard and other Verado models, Mercury showcased its FourStroke, Pro XS and SeaPro outboard brands as well as its MerCruiser sterndrive offerings during the six-day event, which attracts more than 40,000 attendees.

Over the past few years, Mercury has recorded record outboard share at many of the industry’s most influential shows globally including Cannes, Dubai, Miami and Ft. Lauderdale.

BC Ferries vessel Queen of Surrey is expected to remain out of commission until the end of the month, according to BC Ferries.
