Video from Barry Stokes shows the effects of high ethanol blend on marine engines

Mercury Marine, the world leader in commercial and recreational marine propulsion and technology, has partnered with FOX Sports Outdoors host Barry Stokes to produce a video showing the negative effects that E15 or 15 percent ethanol fuel has on a marine outboard engine.

“Mercury Marine has joined with many other marine organizations around the country in an educational campaign to alert you to the dangers of using anything greater than 10 percent ethanol in an outboard engine,” Stokes said.

“Safety is our number one concern and it is imperative that we provide the education needed to ensure that boaters know what they are putting in their engine,” said Mercury Marine Director of Public Relations Lee Gordon.

“We want to make sure that boaters understand the effects that E15 has on their engine before they are 30 miles offshore and it’s too late.”
