MIKE MAYNARD, NORTHERN LIGHTS VICE PRESIDENT AND NORTHEAST BRANCH MANAGER, HAS DIED

Mike Maynard, longtime Northern Lights Vice President and Northeast Branch Manager, died peacefully at his home on September 20, after a long bout with cancer. He was 62.

Maynard had worked for Northern Lights since the 1980’s, when he was hired to start up the company’s Northeast branch office. Mike worked tirelessly to build the NL and Lugger brands in the Northeast, promoting the product into the Northeast and Atlantic Canadian commercial fishing industry, as well as working closely with several prestigious East Coast boatbuilders.

A veteran of the United States Coast Guard, Maynard was particularly known for his work in developing systems to protect and assist US Military personnel in the field, including the SATS and ELAM land based generator systems.

Among Maynard’s final projects was spearheading the development of the Hybrid Marine system.

Prior to Northern Lights, Maynard was the General Manager at DN Kelley, a premier North American boatyard in New York. A graduate of the Boston College of Business, Maynard enjoyed travel, crossword puzzles and sports cars.

“Mike was a dear friend to all who knew him,” said Northern Lights Executive Vice President Larry Repman. “He was a Vice President, board member, tireless worker and great promoter of Northern Lights and our products,” he added.

Mike is survived by his wife, Alexandra, his daughter Tarryn, his son, Garrick, his granddaughter Vivian, his sisters Meredith, Marney and Megan and his brother Matthew. At the family’s request, contributions in Mike Maynard’s memory may be made to Sheets of Love, www.facebook.com/sheetsoflove or the Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Research, www.lustgarten.org.
