Nimbus Group to Simplify Choice Across its Nimbus Model Range by New, Heritage Inspired Product Naming

May 26, 2026

Nimbus Group’s brand “Nimbus” is returning to its roots by reintroducing the original product names “Sport Cruiser” for boats in the WTC series and “Coupé Cruiser” for its coupé boats. At the same time, the names will also indicate the length of the boats in feet, aligning with international standards and clarifying both what the boats are designed for and their size.

First out is the Sport Cruiser 42 series, which is the new name for the boats in the WTC 12 series and is now being delivered to dealers. Boats in the WTC series will consistently be renamed Sport Cruiser, and boats in the Coupé series will revert to the original name Coupé Cruiser. The Sport Cruiser series will include the models Sport Weekender, Sport Tender, and Sport Coupé. Previously, the model names indicated the length of the boats in meters, but by switching to the internationally established industry standard of feet, communication about the boats to the market and customers becomes clearer and more consistent.

“Our flagship brand Nimbus has a global customer base and a wide selection of models. The new naming will simplify choice across the model range and align with international standards. By reintroducing the original product names, we celebrate our long tradition of building top-quality Scandinavian boats but also introduce a future proof naming structure”, says Johan Inden CEO of Nimbus Group.
