In the May 13, 2025 edition of the NMMA Currents newsletter, it was announced that NMMA Canada has been awarded a $250,000 contribution through Global Affairs Canada’s CanExport Associations program for the 2025-26 term—the first time we’ve ever received this level of support, and the maximum amount available through the program. This record-setting contribution comes at a pivotal time, as Canadian marine manufacturers navigate the challenges of rising global trade tensions, tariff uncertainty, and shifting international markets.

The contribution will significantly enhance NMMA Canada’s ability to lead international business development initiatives, strengthening the global competitiveness and visibility of Canada’s recreational boating industry.

            • METSTRADE (Amsterdam, Netherlands) – November 2025: The world’s largest B2B exhibition for the marine leisure industry.
            • Dalmatia Boat Show (Split, Croatia) – April 2025: A growing and significant show in the Adriatic region.
            • Cannes Yachting Festival (Cannes, France) – September 2025: A prestigious event showcasing the latest marine products.
            • International BoatBuilders Exhibition & Conference (IBEX) (Tampa, Florida, USA) – October 2025: North America’s leading technical boat-building showcase.
            • Boot Düsseldorf (Düsseldorf, Germany) – January 2026: A major European international indoor boat show.

“With ongoing challenges in Canada-U.S. trade relations, diversifying our export markets is more critical than ever to ensure the continued growth and long-term resilience of Canada’s recreational boating industry,” said Marie-France MacKinnon, Executive Director of NMMA Canada. “This record-level contribution from the CanExport Associations program comes at a pivotal moment and will enable us to strategically promote Canadian marine products and the exceptional innovation within our sector on the global stage. We’re excited to seize these opportunities to drive growth and open new international pathways for our members.”
