Nominations open for the Boating Ontario President’s Awards

Boating Ontario is pleased to announce nominations for Boating Ontario President’s Awards. These prestigious awards are a celebration of success and an opportunity to recognize those who have made ignificant contributions to Ontario’s recreational boating industry. Winners are announced at the 2016 President’s Dinner and Awards Gala on November 28, 2016, as part of the Boating Ontario Annual Conference program.

 

“The Awards Program has long been a way for the association to recognize significant contributions from individuals or companies within recreational boating industry. We all know people or businesses that go above and beyond to advance recreational boating in Ontario, this is an opportunity for peer-to-peers recognition for the hard work they do all year long” stated Janet Bauer, CEO of the Boating Ontario Association.

 

There are four distinct Boating Ontario President’s Awards of Excellence:

 

W. J. Robertson Award recognizes an individual who has demonstrated an outstanding contribution and has expressed appreciation for the Boating Ontario Association.

 

Gord Blake Visionary Award recognizes an individual or business who have made an outstanding contribution in the field of innovation or successfully leveraged an opportunity for visionary leadership within the boating industry.

 

Robert Eaton Environmental Award celebrates individuals and businesses dedicated to environmental responsibility and stewardship while contributing their time and effort to advancing their efforts in the Boating Ontario Clean Marine program.

 

President’s Award recognizes an individual who has demonstrated an outstanding contribution to long-term impact on the boating industry.

Duncan Peacock, resident of Kitimat BC and member of Kitimat Marine Search and Rescue and RCMSAR Unit 63, has been awarded the 12th annual Tim Jones Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Outdoor Community in British Columbia.

Peacock has been a member of Kitimat Marine Search and Rescue and RCMSAR Unit 63 for 31 years, making him one of the longest-serving members in the province.
