BOATS TO NOTE AT THE 2015 VANCOUVER INTERNATIONAL BOAT SHOW
The 2015 Vancouver International Boat Show is kicking off on January 21st, 2015 and will feature a highly impressive line-up of vessels big and small with a little something for everyone. Many of the boats at the Show will be unveiled for the first time ever in Canada, including the Princess V48 Yacht, the Azimut Magellan 43, and the Tiara 44 Coupe.

NMEA RELEASES LATEST VERSION OF INSTALLATION STANDARD
The National Marine Electronics Association (NMEA) has just published Edition 2014, Version 4.00 of the NMEA 0400 Installation Standard, which contains information on new technologies, updated sections, and additional appendices. NMEA 0400 is a valuable tool and reference guide for installing any piece of marine electronics equipment.

ABYC MARINE CORROSION CERTIFICATION
Our four day ABYC Corrosion Certification course hosted by Port Credit Yacht Club, with instructor Kevin Ritz is designed and intended for those with a minimum of 3-5 years practical experience in the marine field. It is highly recommended that certification candidates already have ABYC electrical certification before attempting the corrosion certification program. It is presumed by the course content that candidates have a reasonable understanding of basic concepts such as electrical grounding, electrical current flow, galvanic isolation and basic marine electrical terminology.

NMEA 2000 GOES ‘LIVE’ AT TORONTO BOAT SHOW
ConnectFest to demonstrate benefit of onboard networking standard SEVERNA PARK, MD—Visitors to the Toronto International Boat Show will get a close-up look at a “live” demonstration that shows how the onboard networking standard NMEA 2000® operates. Attendees will be able to participate in the free event, called ConnectFest, anytime during the nine-day show. Doors open at 10 a.m. on January 10 at Toronto’s Direct Energy Centre, Exhibition Place.

MERCURY MARINE EARNS FOURTH “GREEN MASTER” DESIGNATION
Mercury Marine has earned “Green Master” designation from the Wisconsin Sustainable Business Council for the fourth consecutive year, keeping the Fond du Lac manufacturer in the top 20 percent of the 175 participating companies. Mercury learned of the achievement Wednesday during the 2015 Wisconsin Sustainable Business Council annual conference in Milwaukee.

NMMA CANADA’S SARA ANGHEL HONOURED WITH 2015 BOATING ONTARIO PRESIDENT’S AWARD
Sara Anghel, executive director and vice-president of government relations for National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) Canada, was named the recipient of this year’s Boating Ontario President’s Award, the organization’s highest honour. Boating Ontario’s president Richard Carroll presented the award to Anghel at the Boating Ontario Conference & Trade Show President’s Dinner in Huntsville.

2015 VANCOUVER BOAT SHOW KICKS OFF THE BOATING SEASON
Western Canada’s largest boat show, the Vancouver International Boat Show, is returning in the New Year, giving boaters an early start to the upcoming season. Running Wednesday, January 21 to Sunday, January 25, 2015, the 53rd annual event will host more than 250 exhibitors showcasing the best and biggest selection of boats and boating products.
