MARK REEDENAUER TAKES REINS AS NMEA MANAGING DIRECTOR
The National Marine Electronics Association (NMEA) is pleased to announce the promotion of Mark Reedenauer to the position of managing director. In his new job, Reedenauer will manage the day-to-day activities and programs of the NMEA and serve as principal liaison with the membership and the marine industry. He will report directly to the chairman of the NMEA.

THE TRENT-SEVERN WATERWAY CLOSED FOR ANOTHER YEAR ON OCTOBER 13, 2014
Parks Canada encourages the public to use caution in and around canal structures and channels. From mid-October to the end of May, the canal’s lock stations are closed and their use is at one’s own risk. Unmarked hazards may exist. Wet leaves, ice, and snow may remain on stairs and walkways and ice conditions on the waterway can vary. Over the non-navigation season, aids to navigation may be missing, off-station or inoperable until next spring.

SIR BEN AINSLIE PRAISES BRITISH SUPERYACHT APPRENTICES
Gold medal winning Olympian, Sir Ben Ainslie, celebrated the achievements of 49 apprentices from the superyacht sector at the recent British Marine Federation’s (BMF) Apprenticeship Graduation (Tuesday 16 September). Those graduating have all successfully finished their apprenticeships with members of Superyacht UK, a group association of the BMF.

BENETEAU PRESENTS TOP GUN AWARD TO BLANCHE MORGAN AT ANNAPOLIS
At the Beneteau dealer meetings held at the US Sail show on Annapolis, Blanche Morgan on Anchor Yacht Sales of Port Credit Ontario was presented with both The Top Gun Award for highest sales volume for Beneteau Yachts in North America but also the top sales person for the sales of boats under 40 feet. Blanche received both trophies and the honourary Pain Killer from Group Beneteau.
