HOURS OF OPERATION EXTENDED FOR RIDEAU AND TRENT SEVERN
The federal government announced extended hours of operation for both the Rideau Canal and Trent-Severn Waterway, in time for the Canada Day long weekend. Parks Canada will add a total of 112 hours to the navigation schedule over the entire boating season — a great achievement for recreational boating and the result of our industry's unified advocacy efforts under the leadership of NMMA Canada. To ensure ongoing positive dialogue with the government, NMMA Canada will continue dialogue with the staff of Honourable Leona Aglukkaq, Minister of the Environment and Minister Responsible for Parks Canada, and many other departments on Parliament Hill to ensure issues that directly impact recreational boating nation-wide are being addressed.
