StanleyStaley Weidman III CPYB CEO, Catamaran Sales Inc.

Staley has worked in the Marine Industry for over 20 years, starting his career in the charter industry working in the BVI. In 2000, he became a Licensed Yacht Broker in Florida with The Catamaran Company. He has won the Salesman of the Year Award on 8 di¬erent occasions at The Catamaran Company and has been Lagoon ‘s # 1 World/USA Broker 5 on separate occasions.  In 2003 Staley became a Certi edProfessional Yacht Broker (CPYB) and over the last 5 years Staley has represented Florida Yacht Brokers Association (FYBA) at the CPYB Certi cation Advisory Council (CAC). Several times a year Staley hosts the CPYB pre-exam study courses in Ft Lauderdale. Staley works closely with the FYBA serving on the Public A¬airs Committee and working with lobbyists to change State and Federal Laws concerning the yacht sales industry. Since his start at The Catamaran Company, he has represented buyers and sellers in over 500 successful yacht transactions. He has now been appointed CEO of the Catamaran Company’s Yacht Sales Division Catamaran Sales Inc.

JohnJohn Peterson VP Sales and Marketing, Gemini Catamarans.

John started in the marine industry over 30 years ago spending the last 20 years as VP of Marketing and Sales before becoming the President of both Hunter Marine Corporation and its successor company, Marlow Hunter.

John has served the industry on the Board of Directors of Sail America for 10 years including 4 of those as President. He also earned the Sail Industry Leadership Award in 2007 John holds a degree in Business Administration from Marquette University; a MBA from Golden Gate University and a Certi cate in Advanced Marketing from the University of Wisconsin.

 

 

 

MichaelMichael Pauer Charter Sales Manager

Michael has more than 20 years of experience in heading up the sales and marketing programs in the hospitality and sailing vacation industry. From 2002 – 2012 he was a member of the executive team at Festiva Hospitality Group, where he oversaw the development and launch of a right-to-use sailing club and all-inclusive catamaran sailing vacation company. As the VP of Festiva Sailing Vacations, Pauer developed and implemented sales and marketing strategies which helped launched this new business venture from concept to a  eet of 18 luxury, crewed catamarans based in  ve countries, hosting a 1,300 membership base and a rental program achieving a 90% overall occupancy.  Pauer has received industry recognition as a top performer among marketing professionals within the Intrawest family of resorts as well as earning an Outstanding Achievement Award within the Festiva Hospitality Group for the growth and success of Festiva Sailing Vacations.

 

JenniferJennifer Jolly Gemini Catamarans Brand Manager, The Catamaran Company

Jenn has worked for The Catamaran Company for over 5 years and is currently in charge of Dealer Management for Gemini Catamarans. With the growth of Gemini’s sales and independent dealers throughout the world and with John Peterson and his experience coming onboard it was identi ed that a brand manager was needed to help The Catamaran Company’s Internal Gemini Dealerships handle the growth of their Gemini sales.

Jenn has previously held similar positions in both the technology and hospitality industries. Her experience runs the spectrum from start-up companies developing their brand to established companies with a changing demographic. We feel her experience with the latter will add particular value to the Gemini Catamarans brand as it enters its 35th year of production.

Canada’s Marine Retailers Band Together to Form New Canadian Marine Retailers Association

CMRA

The provincial marine associations from across the country, collectively representing over 80,000 jobs and $9.2B in national annual economic impact, announced the formation of a new national association whose mandate will be to represent the interests of recreational boating including recreational boat retailing and brokering, boat and engine & trailer sales, accessories, slip rentals, service, storage, fuel sales and more. Headquartered in Penetanguishene, Ontario, the newly formed Canadian Marine Retailers Association (CMRA) will focus on national issues facing the sector.

“The formation of a national voice to address the many aspects of our sector that affect the jobs and lives of Canadians from coast to coast is something many of our provincial associations have been calling for, for years,” says Brett Ramsey, President of Boating Ontario. “This is a positive step to ensuring issues facing our sector are represented to decisionmakers in the federal government.” READ MORE
