The Directors of the TriNav Group of Companies today announced the successful acquisition of Halifax, Nova Scotia-based Ocean Yacht Sales.

The TriNav Group of Companies, which owns TriNav Marine Brokerage, the largest marine-related broker in Eastern Canada, and Fairhaven, Massachusetts-based Athearn Marine Agency, said the acquisition will provide pleasure boat clients with a broader and more comprehensive customer base through the company’s brokers throughout Atlantic Canada and the Eastern Seaboard.

TriNav Director Trevor Decker said the company has been looking for avenues to grow its pleasure boat sales and offerings and the addition of Ocean Yacht Sales will benefit new and existing clients alike.

“Ocean Yacht Sales has always been one of the most recognized and respected pleasure boat brokerage companies in Atlantic Canada. The company’s excellent reputation was a direct result of the hard work and integrity of owner John Roy. The entire marine industry was deeply saddened when John passed away this summer after a brief battle with cancer. We are committed to continuing John Roy’s legacy at Ocean Yacht Sales through his core principles of key industry knowledge and excellent customer service.”

“TriNav’s acquisition of Ocean Yacht Sales will combine the talents, expertise and resources of the TriNav Group of Companies to further enhance Ocean Yacht Sales’ expertise in pleasure yacht sales and service. We are very excited to add this very successful company to our group,” Decker added.

ABOUT OCEAN YACHT SALES
Ocean Yacht Sales was started in 1963 by Orin Archibald, providing yacht brokerage service to Atlantic Canada. The company excelled and grew, formulating a reputation of knowing the perfect boat for its clients. In the mid-1980s, John Roy joined Ocean Yacht Sales and acquired the company in 1991. Since that time, John grew the brokerage to include new yacht sales with the C&C lines and adding Beneteau, Dufour and X-Yachts. John’s integrity, fairness and attention to detail helped make Ocean Yacht Sales the premier pleasure boat brokerage in Atlantic Canada.
