European Patent Office Grants VoltSafe Key Patent on Flagship “Electrical Fingerprint” Technology

Voltsafe Key Patent

July 8, 2025

VoltSafe Inc. is proud to announce that the European Patent Office (“EPO”) has granted a foundational patent for the company’s flagship prongless power connector technology, a critical innovation that forms the foundation of VoltSafe’s breakthrough approach to safe, smart electrical power.

The EPO’s decision extends VoltSafe’s IP protection into 39 European countries, and adds fresh bricks to an IP fortress, following prior IP wins in the United States, Canada, China, and other global jurisdictions. The patent grant not only protects VoltSafe’s next-gen technology, it also opens the door to strategic licensing deals with major industrial, marine, defence, and consumer electronics players.

“Patents are a passport to global commercialization and serve as a green light for anyone wanting to license, embed, or invest in the next generation (global standard) of power delivery. The demand for safer, smarter and more accessible power delivery continues to accelerate and with ~30 billion devices in existence worldwide that use pronged plugs and 6 billion daily users, VoltSafe has a blue ocean of opportunity ahead.”
– Trevor Burgess, Co-Founder & CEO.

Europe represents a massive opportunity for VoltSafe. The continent’s strong focus on electrification, clean-tech adoption, and smart infrastructure aligns perfectly with VoltSafe’s patented technology. With recent EU Green Deal initiatives and growing investment in marine electrification, the European market isn’t just large, it’s ready for innovation. Securing IP protection in this region cements VoltSafe’s ability to scale across a thriving, regulation-driven market that values safety, efficiency, and sustainability.

VoltSafe is on the brink of closing an equity crowdfunding campaign through FrontFundr to advance its strategic roadmap. The raise was open to all investors in Canada and select countries around the world until June 25, 2025. The capital raised will support critical R&D projects, commercialization of VoltSafe Marine, and support the development of new licensing partnerships.

An anchoring system has two parts: the anchor itself and the rode which connects the anchor to the boat. To be effective, an anchor must have good holding power, and the rode must be strong enough to withstand the strains that are put on it.
