ABBRA’s Highly Respected Marine Service Managers Certification Course has been scheduled

ABBRAMSM

July 29, 2025

The American Boat Builders and Repairers Associations (ABBRA) will hold its Virtual Marine Service Manager (MSM) Course in November 2025.

Attendees of this four-week course participate in six educational sessions on topics critical to running a successful service management department—effective leadership, human resource development, maritime law and more. The course is taught—both live and online—by seasoned industry leaders.

Employers need a team of competent, certified technicians. This includes a strong leader that supports productivity and keeps the team focused on success. ABBRA teaches the leadership skills needed to operate a boatyard, service department, or a boat building or large refit project.
The MSM Course is a unique opportunity for boatyard operators to increase the professionalism of themselves and their staff and improve the efficiency and profitability of their business. The ideal candidate for this certification course wants to advance and demonstrate proven leadership and management skills in a business operation that builds, refits, repairs, and/or services boats.

In the words of a MSM Course participant, “The ABBRA staff is great and very helpful. The course was well thought through and the content very informative. All the presentations were great—especially the one … on human resource management and leadership skills. I recommend this course to anyone looking to advance their career… I am proud to be an ABBRA-certified marine service manager. Thank you and your staff for offering this important course.”
Norm Gadomski, Bristol Marine
