Financial Aid for the Coming MST Year

Quadrant Marine Institute

July 23, 2024

Quadrant Marine Institute is always excited to have the support of our industry. For our apprentices this support means training aids, guest speakers, and a diverse display of industry work available. Our community of supporters also help make financial aid possible for our students.

We’ve recently launched an updated Financial Aid page on our website to help guide our apprentices through the network of support available to them. This terrific support also deserves to be shared with you, as these organizations are making journey-person certification accessible to our Marine Service Community.

There are three bursaries available to our apprentices in all training locations, provided by;Boating BC, The BC Yacht Brokers Association, & The West Coast Boatyard Association. These bursaries are all targeted to increase accessibility and address various financial needs during the apprenticeship year.

Applications for the Marine Service Industry Bursary are due by July 31st.

Applications for the BC Yacht Brokers Association Bursary & West Coast Boatyard Training Bursary are due by September 30th.

In memory of long term Platinum Marine employee Al Shewan, the Al Shewan Memorial Scholarship can be used towards all programming at Quadrant, including the Marine Service Manager Program, and continuing education courses. Provided by those inspired by Al’s commitment, in this legacy fund his lifelong dedication to Marine Service Excellence survives.

Our final award to highlight comes from the Classic Yacht Association – Canadian Fleet. The CYA-Canadian Fleet Scholarship will be awarded to one graduating student who has demonstrated academic & professional excellence during their 4 years of MST training. Their support of marine trades furthers the preservation of our floating marine heritage!
