100A cable sets enhance yacht electrical safety

100A Cable Sets

May 8, 2023

As luxury vessels add more onboard amenities, so grows the demand for greater levels of electricity. While yachts are docked, Hubbell Marine 100 amp Cable Sets help safely deliver all the power that feature-rich vessels require, in a durable and reliable design.

As the first company that offered 100A marine-grade pin-and-sleeve devices, Hubbell helped establish today’s safety standards for high power systems with the National Electric Code and the American Boat & Yacht Council. To combat harsh, corrosive marine environments, each 100A shore power cable set features stainless steel housing screws, while couplings use a high impact thermoset contact carrier to resist arcing and heat. Nickel-plated, solid brass pins assure long service life and reliable electrical contacts.

UL- and CSA-listed housings feature a super-tough nylon construction for exceptional safety and durability. A gasketed locking ring provides water-tight connections in use. Special keying facilitates proper connector alignment, while massive external cable grips protect the wire against conductor movement which can lead to strain on the terminals.

Hubbell 100A Cable Sets utilize a special compound cable in 3, 4 or 5 wire configurations, available in white or yellow finishes in lengths from 75′ to 125′. American MSRP starts at $6,196 USD. Hubbell also offers models that pair with an isolation transformer or a cable winch system.
