AMPEThe National Marine Propeller Association (NMPA) will host its Annual Marine Propulsion Expo, formerly named the Annual Convention, from December 7 – 10, 2023 at the Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. NMPA Associate Member and non-member companies are invited to exhibit their boat propeller and propulsion related products and services and take advantage of the opportunities to meet the business owners, repair/sales professionals, and boating consumers at the Expo which is themed ‘Explore, Connect, Learn, Grow’.

The new format event not only features a new location and new dates, as it moves from its longtime Las Vegas venue to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, but will also offer keynote speakers, technical and business seminars, and for the first time is inviting the boating public to come explore the propulsion-related consumer products and services on display by the Expo exhibitors. A full Exhibitor & Sponsorship package is available and All Access Expo NMPA Member Registrations are $350 with Early Bird and Discount Dates available; non-members are $399, and the cost for the general public is $15. Thursday will feature a member-only Welcome Reception, while Friday, December 8th is the President’s Marine Industry Breakfast and Keynote Presentation, with an Educational Seminars Day for marine trade and industry-only preview of Exhibits in the afternoon, followed by an invitation-only Networking Cocktail Reception. Saturday morning will feature NMPA Annual Awards and Annual Meeting Breakfast. Saturday and Sunday are open to the public from 10am for Consumer Days.

Mike Jones, owner of Coastal Propeller Service in Bridge City, Texas and president of the NMPA said, “For 30 years we produced the Annual Convention as part of our mission to promote high standards of propeller repair, sales and service among our members, however, based on their input and the feedback from our exhibitors, we recognized that the time was right to expand from our propeller focus and provide an event with a more comprehensive view of boat propulsion systems, and that’s why we have created the Annual Marine Propulsion Expo.” He continued, “Based on the level of interest in our new Fort Lauderdale location, the new dates and the changes made to the format, we anticipate strong member attendance, exhibitor sign-ups and keen interest from the South Florida boating community.”

Sponsorship opportunities are available for companies interested in marine industry B2B marketing, and the boating consumer marketplace exposure. Seventy-five percent of attendees at the 2022 NMPA Annual Convention were propeller repair and sales shop owners or business operations decision makers, while the state of Florida is home to over one million registered recreational boats, and South Florida with its more than 120,000 registered boats is recognized as the yachting capital of the world. NMPA will be undertaking a national and local multi-media and multi-channel marketing campaign to promote the Annual Marine Propulsion Expo. Electric Boat

The 10th edition of the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge (MEBC) has wrapped up at the Yacht Club de Monaco (YCM) and it gives a compelling look at the future of electric boating.

The MEBC was started in 2014 as a competition between university teams who built and raced boats powered only by solar power and batteries. To encourage more participation from institutions that may not have naval architecture or boat construction expertise, the YCM introduced the Energy Class competition. The club supplies the student teams with the same one-design catamaran hull, and each team adds their own cockpit and propulsion system that can be powered by any renewable alternative energy sources, not just solar.

Questus Radar Mount

Questus Marine patented, Self-Leveling Radar Mounts automatically keep radar antennas level with the horizon, eliminating target loss.

Regardless of the angle of heel, with a Questus mount, a radar antenna will pick up targets to either side of a vessel, rather than aiming to the sky and water (for planes and fish). The Questus Marine Self-Leveling Radar Mount can be installed in three basic configurations: backstay mount, mast mount or Stern Pole mount.
