5 REASONS MARKETING TO CANADA WILL INCREASE YOUR SALES

Canadian Yachting

Aug 11, 2020

Especially in a year when the boating market in the United States is booming, marketing to Canada may feel like a lower priority for manufacturers, in spite of the fact that the Canadian market is large, stable and profitable.

During the 2008/2009 sub-prime mortgage melt-down, boat sales in the United States came to an abrupt halt, yet the Canadian market kept right on going. If you recall, the energy sector in Canada at that time was doing well and we saw the Canadian dollar rise to parity levels with the Greenback. The result was that the Canadian market was instrumental in keeping a fair number of American builders in business.

We are certainly not seeing a repeat of 2008/2009, but we think it’s time to remind our marine industry suppliers, many of whom are in the United States, that Canada is a strong market and a great boating market.

We gathered some beautiful boating video footage from industry suppliers, wrote this 90 second script and we produced this video as a reminder that Canada should be recognized as one of the biggest markets for marine products in North America. Have a look and see what we had to say on behalf of Canadian marine businesses.
